Cover Envy (11)

It's that time of week again! I'm showing another couple of covers that make me green with envy and stuck sitting on my hands until the novels they cover come out.

I hope you enjoy!

You Against Me by Jenny Downham- I love this cover because the two models look tangled up in each other. I like that we wee both of their hands and arms and their grip is so tight. It really speaks to the desperation they are feeling. I think I'd have rather seen this cover in color but that's small. I love the strip of green across the top where the author's name is though. Really eye catching!

Summary from Goodreads:

If someone hurts your sister and you're any kind of man, you seek revenge, right? If your brother's been accused of a terrible crime and you're the main witness, then you banish all doubt and defend him. Isn't that what families do? When Mikey's sister claims a boy assaulted her at a party, his world of work and girls begins to fall apart. When Ellie's brother is charged with the crime, but says he didn't do it, her world of revision, exams and fitting in at a new school begins to unravel. When Mikey and Ellie meet, two worlds collide. Brave and unflinching, this is a novel of extraordinary skillfulness and almost unbearable tension. It's a book about loyalty and the choices that come with it. But above all it's a book about love - for one's family and for another.

You can snag yourself a copy of You Against Me on December 2, 2010.

Born At Midnight by C.C. Hunter- This cover is gorgeous! I love the purple hue to the background and the bright pink test of the title. The girl standing in the middle of a tree with split in two or two trees growing from the same root is really visually pleasing. I like it because the tree splitting in two represents both of the girls worlds. This cover is a definite win!

Summary from Goodreads:

Kylie Galen has had a lot of crap tossed in her lap. Her parents are getting a divorce. Her boyfriend broke up with her because she wouldn’t put out. Her grandmother died and now Kylie’s acquired a stalker. Unfortunately, she’s the only one who seems to be able to see the stalker. And that gets her sent to a psychologist’s sofa.

The kooky psychologist gets Kylie sent to Shadow Falls Camp. Kylie and her parents think it’s a camp for troubled teens.

They thought wrong.

It’s a camp of supernaturals: vampires, werewolves, fairies, witches and shape shifters. And if she believes the camp leader, Kylie is one of them, too.

Just because she’s seeing ghosts, just because she was born at midnight, does that really mean she’s not human? And if so, what is she? Not even the other supernaturals can tell her.

As Kylie attempts to cope with the realization that these creatures actually exist, and that she might even be one of them, the ever present stalker/ghost appears to have secrets that could unravel the mystery of Kylie’s identity and her destiny.

But getting a ghost to open up is as hard as getting a guy to talk about his feelings.

As Kylie struggles to find answers, two hot guys, a werewolf and a half-fairy vie for her attention. However, Kylie’s determined that before she lets her heart discover a new love, she needs to solve her indentify crisis and unearth the truth of her destiny.

You can grab Born At Midnight on March 29, 2011.

  1. Interesting. I like the cover for You Against Me, but I'm not sure I like that little round ad on the front. The green adds a nice touch to the black-and-white photo background.

  2. I love the sound of Jenny Downham's book. I've been meaning to read Before I Die for quite some time too.

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
