Switched by Amanda Hocking
When Wendy Everly was six-years-old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right. With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy's not sure she wants to be a part of it.

To test Wendy's training thus far, Elora decides to throw a dinner party which also couples as a way to show off the Princess. Finn gets Wendy ready and briefs her on the two families coming along. Wendy ends up liking the Stroms and though Willa is a bit snotty, she is gerneally okay and her father is great. The Kroners, on the other hand are terrible, and their son Tove seems pompous, not even acknowleging anyone the entire night. Elora jumps all over Wendy because she bowed and Wendy gets the feeling that Elora likes Mr. Strom. During the dinner, she finds out that there will be a ball held in her honor to introduce her to society.

After getting in trouble for falling asleep in Rhys' room shince he's a mankslig, finn finally tells her that Rhys is actually Michael, the boy she was switched at birth with. They continue their training since the ball looms closer and Wendy feels restless and bored. To break the monotony, Finn takes Wendy on a hike and shows her the town of Forening and they share a moment. Then later while dancing in the ballroom, they share another moment though Finn breaks both of these before anything can happen.

The night before the ball, Elora throws one last dinner as a warm up for the ball and the Stroms, Finn, and Rhys are invited. There Elora asks Wendy what her new name wil lbe and when Wendy says she won't change it, Elora commands her to. Finn sticks up for Wendy and the dinner erupts into choas. On the way out of the dining room, Elora has Finn stay back. When he emerges, he reveals to Wendy that he was relieved of his duties. Angry, Wendy confronts Elora who reveals that Wendy and Finn can never be together as it will taint her bloodline and weaken her child's potential power. Plus, she will lose all claim to the crown and be banished. Elora also says that Finn resigned. Wendy runs to Finn who confirms. They kiss but Finn pulls away and leaves.

Willa comes over the next day and helps Wendy prepare for the ball. Wendy is so busy trying not to screw up, she doesn't have time to think about her broken heart. Everything goes well though she really doesn't like dancing with all the people. During a break, she meets Rhys and right when they are about to part, the Vittra attack. Rhys gets knocked out and Tove is able to push off Jen, the Vittra that attacked Wendy in the beginning, off of her. Finn grabs Wendy and they run into the palace. Jen follows them into a room and Finn and he fight, busting through a window onto the balcony Wendy say in the painting Elora painted. Jen manages to get Finn over the edge but Finn makes them both fall. Believing he is dead, Wendy looks over the edge and he floats back up thanks to Tove's powers, Finn stays with Wendy in her room that night and leaves in the morning. Elora confirms it's for good. Lonely and miserable, Wendy convinces Rhys to sneak away with her and she runs back home to Matt and Maggie. She finally feels like she's home.
