The Butterfly Clues by Kate Ellison Amazing Giveaway

Paper Lit Lantern is celebrating another book release by one of their fabulous authors. And they are doing it in style! Seven blogs are hosting The Butterfly Clues themed related giveaways courtesy of Paper Lantern Lit and you just happened to stumble upon one of them!

Wanna know a little more about the story?:
Penelope (Lo) Marin has always loved to collect beautiful things. Her dad's consulting job means she's grown up moving from one rundown city to the next, and she's learned to cope by collecting (sometimes even stealing) quirky trinkets and souvenirs in each new place--possessions that allow her to feel at least some semblance of home.
But in the year since her brother Oren's death, Lo's hoarding has blossomed into a full-blown, potentially dangerous obsession. She discovers a beautiful, antique butterfly pendant during a routine scour at a weekend flea market, and recognizes it as having been stolen from the home of a recently murdered girl known only as "Sapphire"--a girl just a few years older than Lo. As usual when Lo begins to obsess over something, she can't get the murder out of her mind.
As she attempts to piece together the mysterious "butterfly clues," with the unlikely help of a street artist named Flynt, Lo quickly finds herself caught up in a seedy, violent underworld much closer to home than she ever imagined--a world, she'll ultimately discover, that could hold the key to her brother's tragic death.
So what's in it for you?:
  • Well, only a SIGNED copy of The Butterfly Clues!
 The Giveaway:

Since Lo stumbles upon the butterfly pendant in a flea market, I want to know about your best flea market, thrift store or hand-me-down find! Show me a picture, describe it and tell me how and where you found it.

Here, I'll show you mine!
This is a hand-me-down. My best friend doesn't wear gold jewelry anymore but she had this ring forever. I saw it, fell in love and asked her for it if she wasn't wearing it. This was like over five years ago. Fast-forward to today and I still wear and adore it. The only difference is now my friend wears gold jewelry and every time she sees it on, I have to remind her not to Indian give!

  5. My fave and most "valuable" flea market find was a silver brooch with Gothic-style initials that happened to match mine! I don't wear brooches, so I turned it into a belt buckle. I'd link to a pic, but I've given it to my sister for good-luck when she left for college.

  11. The best find I've had so far was at a garage sale. I found an antique plow with the manufacturers writing w/date and all still on the handles, all the implements and plow still has all the original paint. I got it really really cheap. :)

  12. My most prized hand-me-down is my grandmother's wedding band. She left it to me when she passed away. I was seventeen when she died and eight years later I got to wear her wedding band as my "something old" on my own special day! I had to pin it to my gown as my nana had herself some chunky digits!

My favourite flee market finds are always books! Or note books! I have a serious notebook fetish so whenever I come within paying distance of a cute hand-made or vintage notebook then I'm beyond restraining (much to my husband's sorrow)!

  28. The best thing that I've acquired second-hand was an opal ring. My best friend's great-aunt was extremely old and was passing out her jewelry to her family. My eyes bulged when she set it out, and she said that she wanted me to have it. Everyone else thought it was terrible and gaudy, so it was not an issue. I later found out that it was over one hundred years old and worth a LOT of money. I keep it in a safety deposit box, but I wear it on very special occasions.

  29. A stuffed animal of ALF! Did you ever watch that show? I loved it when I was a kid, and I had an ALF stuffed animal then, but it was sold in a garage sale when I was 5. Then, when I was around 15 and rummaging around at a garage sale, and I found another same type of ALF stuffed animal! Of course I bought it, and I love him!

  36. I'm a charity shops junkie here in UK :) We don't have flea markets in my town, but there is Leek, small town next to us choke full of antique shops and it has car boot antique sales every weekend. Also Portobello street in London has a famous vintage/antique market to die for, and I very much like to go on one of the big antique/vintage fairs they organise in UK few times a year. I get my finds on Ebay, in charity shops and on car boot sales. I absolutely love vintage, enamel and venetian glass jewelry. My latest favorite is a Christmas present from my hubby - a vintage Wedgewood cameo. Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
