Impromptu Read-A-Thon & Giveaway!

My friend and I were talking about how we don't have as much time for reading as we both like. So we decided to do a read-a-thon today. She's coming over after she gets off work around 3 pm and we will be reading till 12 or 1 am. I'm excited to get some good reading time in and I won't be alone while doing it! I think it's going to be awesome.

So here's what my slow reading butt is looking at trying to get through:
Vanish by Sophie Jordan (I only have 100 p[ages left)

I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore

The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore

I'll probably get most of the way through I Am Number Four but I'm really hoping to read The Power of Six. We'll see! I know your usually supposed to pick tiny books for these things but these are the books I must get read so I can get reviews out.

If you want to sit down and read for as long as you can today, feel free!  I'll even sweeten the deal with a book of your choice from the Book Depository for one lucky person who joins in (picked randomly from the comments)!

Rules:

  • Leave a comment with a link to your post for your goals (+1)
  • Leave a comment at the end with a link to your actual stats (pages/books read and time allotted) (+1)
  • If you advertised, leave that in one of your comments too (+1)
  • You must leave your email
  • Read-A-Thon goes until Saturday August 13 at 3 pm EST
  • There is no amount of time you have to read. I just want to know how long you did!
  • Have fun!

  1. You're not the only one blessed with a slow reading butt (somehow I read faster when it's colder, I dunno) - I started "Mini Shopaholic" (Sophie Kinsella) two days ago and I really REALLY hope to finish it by Sunday!

  2. Today I'm re-reading NIGHTSHADE since WOLFSBANE just came in the mail this week. I'm on pg 257 right now and I'm reading on my down time. Since I have to go to a wedding this evening, I'm just hoping to get to pg 450 or so. We shall see.

  3. Aww this sounds like fun.. But I'm a fast reader, the only reason I haven't finished the current book I'm reading is that I get bored with it.. I hope your read-a-thon is successful! :)

  7. Oh man, I have a sad addiction to read-a-thons. Unfortunately the timing is just never perfect. My weekend is already booked. I am just hoping to find some time for reading at all. I would like to get one book read in the next two days.

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
