Shadowboxes

So you're probably wondering why I've been a little sparse around here lately. There are Other Things but one of the main reasons is because I have been helping my husband build his shadowboxes. We decided to make the trip up to Bronycon in Baltimore as a vendor in August and have been working like we're possessed to build up an inventory. It's actually been a lot of fun but it has severely cut into my reading time (which is okay since I'm not sure I'd be able to read right now anyway).

But I thought you guys might like to see a few we've created. All of them are My Little Pony related because that has been the market that has supported us but keep in mind that we can do so many more things than just MLP.

If you're interested in purchasing one, you can visit the Deviantart page or the shop on Etsy and don't be afraid to ask for custom pieces! You get a free mock-up so you'll know exactly what you're getting. This is the commission info:
Boxes range from $45-$70 plus shipping but the come in frames. Keep in mind that pictures really don't do them justice since the appeal of these boxes is that it makes the photo look like it's popping out and creates shadows.

Here are a few of my favorites so far:

As you can see, we've been very busy but we're getting so many commissions in that we've only actually made 10 boxes towards our inventory. It's been so fun helping my husband create his art and I can't wait to set up a table at the convention and talk to people about our boxes. I'll definitely report on that.

In the meantime, if there is something you might like (think Harry Potter, Doctor Who ((PLEASE SOMEONE COMMISSION US FOR A DOCTOR WHO)), Disney princesses or Pixar, Star Trek, book covers, The Hunger Games) let us know or maybe you like to get a birthday gift for a friend.

Anyway, I'd love to hear what you think of them or if any of you have ever been a vendor at a convention, if you have any tips.

  1. Holy moly! Those are crazy! Is your husband an artist? Also, why My Little Pony? lol They're adorbs, but I'm curious as to why he chose that.

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
