Waiting on Wednesday: Incarnation by Emma Cornwall

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine where you can post about upcoming books you're looking forward to. This is a wonderful chance for blogger to show off what's coming out soon that they are excited about! Every week my wishlist balloons thanks to this awesome meme.

Incarnation by Emma Cornwall
Lucy Weston tracks down the novelist Bram Stroker in her search to reveal the dark force who made her a vampire—and regain her humanity in the process.
In the steampunk world of Victorian London, Lucy Weston, a character in Dracula, seeks out Bram Stoker to discover why he deliberately lied about her in his popular novel. With Stoker’s reluctant help, she tracks the creature who transformed her from the sensual underworld where humans vie to become vampires to a hidden cell beneath a temple to madness and finally into the glittering Crystal Palace where death reigns supreme.
Haunted by fragmentary memories of her lost life and love, Lucy battles her thirst for blood as she struggles to stop a catastrophic war that will doom vampires and humans alike. Ultimately, she makes a choice that illuminates for her—and for us—the true nature of what it means to be human.
Incarnation is out September 18th 2012 by Gallery Books.

I like Dracula so I think this is a fun expansion on the novel by Bram Stoker. Plus, I love that the author is going to be in the story, especially knowing that he was a pretty odd dude himself. I've always been a fan of stories were authors meet their characters so again this one works for me. I'm most definitely excited about this one even though it is not actually a YA.

What are you waiting on?

  1. Steampunk Dracula/extension of? Love to this. It was already on my wishlist, but I really want to read it. And it's not technically YA...as long as it doesn't have erotica, I won't mind. Do you think it'll have erotica in it?
    Great pick.

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
