Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini
How do you defy destiny?
Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is—no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket. And it's getting harder. Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust. At school she's haunted by hallucinations of three women weeping tears of blood . . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they're destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.
As Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry, she realizes that some myths are more than just legend. But even demigod powers might not be enough to defy the forces that are both drawing her and Lucas together—and trying to tear them apart.
I've read review after glowing review about this novel. Everyone really seems to dig it. I picked it up because the novel sounded fantastic and I'm pretty in love with that cover too. Now, with the release of the sequel's cover, I really need to get on it!

What's your pick this week?

  1. I haven't read this book either, I love the cover as well. Here's mine:

  2. This is my first time doing this meme :D I haven't heard of this book.

  3. This is on my wishlist, since it had so many good reviews! :)

  4. I so hope that this book delivers!! :)

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
