Waiting on Wednesday (35): Spellbound, Fury and Shattered Dreams

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine where you can post about upcoming books you're looking forward to.

This is a wonderful chance for blogger to show off what's coming out soon that they are excited about! Every week my wishlist balloons thanks to this awesome meme.

Spellbound by Cara Lynn Shultz
What’s a girl to do when meeting The One means she’s cursed to die a horrible death?

Life hasn’t been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Conner, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she’s irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.
But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can’t stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma’s been having the oddest dreams. Visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else.
Why I need this: I know the forbidden love angle is very popular right now but I still can't get enough of it! Past lives and a boy to stay away from? Count me in! Plus, that cover has me ten kinds of crazy for it!

Spellbound comes out June 21, 2011 to HarperTeen.

Fury by Elizabeth Miles
In book one of the Fury trilogy, Emily Winters and Chase Singer discover that a little guilt isn’t the only consequence of doing wrong. After Emily hooks up with her best friend’s boyfriend and Chase’s secret harassment of a social outcast spirals out of control, three mysterious Furies—paranormal creatures that often assume the form of beautiful female cousins—come to town to make sure that Emily and Chase get what they deserve. Not everyone will survive—and those who do will discover there are worse punishments than death. But when Emily befriends outcast Drea and learns more about who and what the Furies really are, she becomes resolved above all to take them down and stop their plans. Little does Emily know, by confronting the Furies, she could become inextricably bound to them for life.
Why I need this: I am a sucker for a good Greek mythology re-telling and this one seems right up my alley. I love that the stakes are so high in this one and there will be death. Always down! Plus, look at  that gorgeous, gorgeous cover. *Would kill for hair like that*

Fury comes out September 6,2011 from Simon Pulse.

Shattered Dreams: A Midnight Dragonfly Novel by Ellie James

Sixteen-year-old Trinity Monsour wants nothing more than to live a normal life. But that isn’t as easy as it seems. Trinity is different. She isspecial. She sees visions, and for those she’s seen, it’s already too late.
Trinity arrives on her aunt’s doorstep in New Orleans with virtually no knowledge of her mysterious heritage. She begins settling into life at a new school and even starts making friends. But all too quickly her dreams accelerate; twisted, terrifying visions of a girl locked in a dark room. And when the head cheerleader, Jessica, goes missing, Trinity knows she has no choice but to step forward with what she’s seen.
But people believe that Trinity has information about Jessica’s disappearance not because of a dream, but because she is involved. She iskind-of dating Jessica’s ex-boyfriend, Chase, and Jessica did pull a nasty prank on Trinity. Revenge seems like the likeliest scenario.
Nothing prepares Trinity for the dark odyssey that ensues while searching for Jessica, including the surprising romance she finds with Chase, or the shocking truths she learns, not just about the girl who has gone missing, but the past that has been hidden from her.
Why I need this: Another Chase. I am in love with that name. But that's not the only reason I want to read this novel. I love that by doing the right thing, Trinity is condemning herself. We always hear characters think of this option and then disregard it because people would think they were crazy. I need to read a novel where someone finally tries it!

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
