Happily Ever Endings... Spells by Aprilynne Pike

Happily Ever Endings... was born out of sheer frustration. You know how when you read a series and you love it but the last book takes a little while to come out and then you sort of forget parts of the novel? That's what these posts are going to serve to remedy. Happily Ever Ending... is a short post about what happened at the ending of each book that is going to be in a series for people who need a quick reminder of what happened in the previous installment. I hope this saves someone else the frustration that I went through!

Spells (Wings #2) by Aprilynne Pike
Six months have passed since Laurel saved the gateway to the faerie realm of Avalon. Now she must spend her summer there, honing her skills as a Fall faerie. But her human family and friends are still in mortal danger--and the gateway to Avalon is more compromised than ever.

When it comes time to protect those she loves, will she depend on David, her human boyfriend, for help? Or will she turn to Tamani, the electrifying faerie with whom her connection is undeniable?

Laurel receives a note from Avalon inviting her to a festival and Tam says he'll be her guide. She accepts but chooses not to tell David because he is suspicious of her relationship with Tam. After having a wonderful time at the festival, Tam kisses her while they are dancing and tell Laurel that he loves her.

Distraught and unwilling to hear the truth, Laurel flees, heading back to the human world with Tam only to find out that David is waiting for her by her car. She has been caught going to The Lands without telling him. In an effort to force her to confront her feelings, Tam kisses her in front of David and she tells Tam to leave and not come back. Tam does leave and she rushes to David who is hurt and betrayed. Upon David's request to leave him alone, Laurel goes home and a window in her house is broken with a note saying that Barnes (that troll from the first novel who shoot Tam) has Chelsea.
With no one to turn to, Laurel goes to David who agrees to help her rescue Chelsea. They go to her mother's store and her mother decides to trust Laurel and gives her supplies to make a potion but only with the promise that Laurel will explain later. David and Laurel find Chelsea with Barnes and Laurel succeeds in putting all the trolls but Barnes asleep with a potion she made. Out of options, Laurel is forced to throw her gun on the floor and try to bargain for David and Chelsea's lives when Klea (a woman who hunts trolls and who Laurel can't decide if she trusts) comes to the rescue, killing Barnes.
After being saved, Chelsea confides in Laurel that she knew Laurel was a faerie. They drop Chelsea off and then head to David's house. There Laurel tells David she is going to cut it off with Tam. David accepts her apology and they make up (and make out). At home, Laurel tells her parents everything and her and her mother finally patch things up. The novel ends with Laurel visiting The Land to tell Tam it's over but she meets Shar instead. Shar tells her Tam left and she tells Shar everything. As Laurel is driving away, it is revealed that Tam was there along and is about to embark on some mission. As to what, it is unclear.
So concludes Spells and you should now be all caught up for the next installment! Did I leave out anything important? Let me know below and I'll make sure to add it! Hope this posts helps!

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
