The Time Will Come (5): Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

The Time Will Come is a weekly meme started by Books for Company which spotlights books that have been sitting unread on our shelves for too long.*

From Goodreads:
Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It's gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie's estranged father--an elusive European warlock--only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it's her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters.
By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire student on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect.
As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her.

Why the time hasn't come:

I kept picking this book up at the bookstore and putting it down. Something about it wasn't catching me but then I started reading reviews on it, seeing it included in people's favorite's list and all of a sudden, I knew I needed it. I'm a bit jealous that my friend has read BOTH books before me but I'll definitely be remedying that soon!

What books are sitting sadly in your TBR pile waiting for you to wake up and remember their names?

  8. As soon as I heard the phrase "chick lit version of Harry Potter" I knew I wanted to read this one. I've been seeing it everywhere and so many people tell me it's funny, quirky and just a great story. I actually gave it to my friend for her birthday a while back so I'll probably just borrow it back. I own the second as well, so I'll be able to read it straight after. Glad to see I'm not the only one that hasn't read this yet!

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
