From Goodreads:

A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies.
Doomed love.

Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.
Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.
Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.
I bought this book when it first came out because it was getting rave reviews but there was so much else to read I kind of lost track of it all and suddenly, almost a year later it is still sitting on my tbr shelf. Lucky for me I have the sequel to this novel Vanish in my ARC review pile so I'll be getting to this one soon!

  1. I love the cover for Firelight! I've seen it - and it's rave reviews - around a lot, too (:

  3. No way. That is a really good book that has been sitting on your shelf. I sat on the floor of a book store for hours just to read that one. Although, by not reading the book yet you are saving yourself from the long anxious wait for the future books. So perhaps you are making the better choice. The only physical book that has been sitting on my shelf for over a year is Tunnels and that is because I have better books to read.

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
