I want to welcome everyone stopping by from the Hop!
I'm a 23-year-old aspiring YA novelist and on my blog it's all about YA novels, writing and movies! I'm really excited to be meeting everyone! Feel free to have a look around my blog!
This week's question:
If you find a book that looks interesting but is part of a series, do you always start with the first title?
Yes, yes and yes! I always have to start with the first title and I prefer to wait until most of the series is out before I pick it up so that I can blast through it. That being said-- there are some books I just can't wait for even though it is confirmed that they are going to be series.
What about you?
- Make sure to check out all the posts for YA Love Triangle Week and vote for your chance to win a book from any of the posts that these delicious boys came out of!
- Also, check out my idea for First Come, Second Served month where it will be all about whittling down sequels in your TBR pile! I need people to host giveaways and do guests posts.
Hey =)

Welcome to Larissa's Bookish Life
I haven't visited in a while so I am just stopping by to say hello!
ReplyDeleteI have to start books from the first in a series. There are only 2 series that I am being patient with and getting each novel as they come out (and it's painful waiting let me tell you!)
Richelle Mead's VA series, Last sacrifice is out in under a month now. And the 3rd in her Dark Swan series will be out next year.

ReplyDeleteHappy Hopping, Amber! I hope you have a brilliant weekend, and thank you for making your blog so awesome...it keeps me coming back for more :)
ReplyDeleteI can dive right into the middle of a book series if the series' story
ReplyDeletedoesn't run chronologically.
That is to say, if each novel in a series is a stand-alone story (like Lee
Child's Reacher novels) then I don't feel the need to start with book one.
On the other hand, a series of books (like Richard Hatch's Battlestar
Galactica novels) can't be read out of sequence since each new book builds
upon the story of the previous entry in the series.
Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

I typically start with the first book, too. I wish I could hold off on reading a series till most were out, but that hardly happens for me!
ReplyDeleteHappy Hop!
