A Million and One Cover Alerts!

There have been a slew of gorgeous cover reveals lately. Here are the ones you need to know about! And trust me, there are a lot of them!

There’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia…

Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper—
The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.
And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor…from her brother.
Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including their maddeningly stubborn yet handsome inventor, Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.
Beautiful black dress, scary barren trees behind a muted color palette and pink in the title.  I am down! Plus, you have to love those gorgeous gloves!

Something Strange and Deadly is out 2012 by HarperCollins.

Endlessly (Paranormalcy #3) by Kiersten White
The third book in the Paranormalcy trilogy.
The final chapter of Evie's adventures. Old friends, new ones, all wrapped up in impossible decisions. And some ball gowns. Because what's a life of normal and paranormal drama without a ball gown or two?
Silly me, thinking I liked Supernaturally the best since it was in my favorite color. I'm even more in love with this dress, those flowers and that gorgeous plum than I was with crimson. Touche HarperCollins, touche.

Endlessly is out July 24, 2012 from HarperTeen.

The Selection by Kiera Cass
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
Are we sensing a theme with gorgeous dressed? Because this is the mother of all gorgeous dresses. Sincerely, this is one of my favorite dresses I've ever seen and that ice blue is just too pretty for words. I really like the mirror effect and that we get to see the model at different angles too!

The Selection is out April 24, 2012 from HarperTeen.

For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund

Generations ago, a genetic experiment gone wrong—the Reduction—decimated humanity, giving rise to a Luddite nobility who outlawed most technology.
Eighteen-year-old Luddite Elliot North has always known her place in this caste system. Four years ago Elliot refused to run away with her childhood sweetheart, the servant Kai, choosing duty to her family’s estate over love. But now the world has changed: a new class of Post-Reductionists is jumpstarting the wheel of progress and threatening Luddite control; Elliot’s estate is floundering; and she’s forced to rent land to the mysterious Cloud Fleet, a group of shipbuilders that includes renowned explorer Captain Malakai Wentforth—an almost unrecognizable Kai. And while Elliott wonders if this could be their second chance, Kai seems determined to show Elliot exactly what she gave up when she abandoned him.
But Elliot soon discovers her childhood friend carries a secret—-one that could change the society in which they live…or bring it to its knees. And again, she’s faced with a choice: cling to what she’s been raised to believe, or cast her lot with the only boy she’s ever loved, even if she has lost him forever.
Inspired by Jane Austen’s PERSUASION, FOR DARKNESS SHOWS THE STARS is a breathtaking romance about opening your mind to the future and your heart to the one person you know can break it.
Maybe I should call this the pretty dress edition? Though if we are being honest, this one is all about the girl's pose. She looks so free and graceful among the stars and I love the sleek ponytail look!

For Darkness Shows the Stars is out June 12, 2012 from Balzer + Bray.

Riding Out The Storm by Sis Deans

Zach is riding the Greyhound bus through a snowstorm to visit his older brother Derek, whom he hasn’t seen in seven months. That’s when their parents finally went broke paying Derek’s doctor’s bills and had to give him up as a ward of the state. Nothing—not drawing in his sketchbook, not basketball—lets Zach forget that his brother is living in a mental institution five states away. But surprisingly, sitting next to a talkative teenage girl he nicknames Purplehead starts to take the edge off Zach’s pain.
Prompted by a chain of unpredictable events and by the people he meets along the way, Zach’s cynical humor gives us a poignant look at medical insurance and health care systems for the mentally ill, and at the everyday fears, joys, and revelations of adolescence.

Maybe I like this one because it doesn't have a girl on it? Honestly, I just like the dark feel of this cover. The male model doesn't look "nice" but because of that he looks interesting. Plus, this is totaly something a boy can tote around!

Riding Out The Storm is out February 28, 2012 from Henry Holt & Company.

Wake by Amanda Hocking
First in a four-book paranormal romance YA series from bestselling author, Amanda Hocking.
And here you thought I'd abandoned all the pretty dresses. That I'd played my hand! All funny business aside, I love the angle of the model on this cover, how she takes up the entire thing. The cerulean of the sea playing with the soft white dress and the castle in the distance make for one stunning cover!

Wake is out August 21, 2012 from St. Martin's Press.

Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris
Two days before the start of her junior year, seventeen-year-old Janelle Tenner is hit by a pickup truck and killed—as in blinding light, scenes of her life flashing before her, and then nothing. Except the next thing she knows, she’s opening her eyes to find Ben Michaels, a loner from her high school whom Janelle has never talked to, leaning over her. And even though it isn’t possible, Janelle knows—with every fiber of her being—that Ben has somehow brought her back to life.
But her reincarnation, and Ben’s possible role in it, is only the first of the puzzles that Janelle must solve. While snooping in her FBI-agent father’s files for clues about her accident, she uncovers a clock that seems to be counting down to something—but to what? And when someone close to Janelle is killed, she can no longer deny what’s right in front of her: Everything that’s happened—the accident, the murder, the countdown clock, Ben’s sudden appearance in her life—points to the end of life as she knows it. And as the clock ticks down, she realizes that if she wants to put a stop to the end of the world, she’s going to need to uncover Ben’s secrets—and keep from falling in love with him in the process.
From debut author Elizabeth Norris comes this shattering novel of one girl’s fight to save herself, her world, and the one boy she never saw coming.
May just be my roots or wanting, but I see Elena from The Vampire Diaries in this cover. I think it's the outfit and the long flowing dark hair. I like the badass stance, the defiance and  also that we see her from different angles. Who is this boy on the left and what does he mean for the story? Intrigued for sure!

Unraveling is coming out 2012 from Balzer + Bray.

Twittercide [twit-er-sahyd]: the killing of one human being by another while the victim is in the act of tweeting.
Call me crazy, but I figured writing for the Herbert Hoover High Homepage would be a pretty sweet gig. Pad the resume for college applications, get a first look at the gossip column, spend some time ogling the paper's brooding bad-boy editor, Chase Erikson. But on my first big story, things went...a little south. What should have been a normal interview with Sydney Sanders turned into me discovering the Homecoming Queen-hopeful dead in her pool. Electrocuted while Tweeting. Now, in addition to developing a reputation as HHH's resident body finder, I'm stuck trying to prove that Sydney's death wasn't suicide.
I'm starting to long for the days when my biggest worry was whether the cafeteria was serving pizza sticks or Tuesday Tacos...
Let's not lie, I'm going to love this one anyway because I loved the first novel. I like this cover because it echoes the last but utilizing green and I love the sparking wires instead of ear buds,!

Social Suicide is out April 24, 2012 from HarperTeen.

Destined (Wings #4) by Aprilynne Pike

The final book of the Wings series by Aprilynne Pike.
Laurel now knows the truth: Yuki is a rare Winter faerie, the most powerful—and deadly—of all, and she is working with Klea to conquer and destroy Avalon. With Tamani, David, and Chelsea by her side, Laurel prepares for a fight she never thought she would have to face.
Filled with heart-pounding action, sweeping romance, and higher stakes at every turn, Destined is the series conclusion that readers have been clamoring for—with a twist that will leave them breathless.
I can't wait to find out what is going to happen to Laurel and Tamani (alright and David too!) and how this series is going to end! This is by far my favorite cover of the series. The white flower in the dark blue water with the blue lighting is just gorgeous!

Destined is coming out Apirl 28, 2012 from HarperCollins.

Dark Kiss by Michelle Rowen
After her soul is stolen in a kiss, a 16-year-old must join a force of demons and angels to protect humanity from an immortal threat
This is basically rebel-without-a-cause personified in a photo. Everything from the hair to outfit screams James Dean in the best way possible. I love the dark wings coming out like smoke and the cityscape in the background. Gorgeous cover!

Dark Kiss is coming out June 2012 from Harlequin Teen.

Rapture (Fallen #4) by Lauren Kate
No description on this one yet but it's Fallen #4. Need I say more really?
I wonder if anyone else is a little sad that this isn't a black dress? Though maybe the color is supposed to tell us something? Maybe this has something to do with redemption and salvation? Regardless, I like this cover a million bazillion times more than the third book (for those of you who don't remember, the model's sickly skinny arms bothered the life out of me). The girl's long hair echoes the covers before her and I love that we get the return of the birds. Can't wait to add this one to my shelves!

Rapture is out June 13, 2012 from Random House.

Fallen In Love (Short Stories) by Lauren Kate
Again, no description accept for the fact that these are short stories. The author has a sample up on her blog now!
We're back to the dark dress again and I like it, especially since these stories are (I believe) pre-Fallen so it makes sense with the time line!

Elise is a normal seventeen-year-old girl until the afternoon she wakes up with no idea who she is—and doesn’t recognize herself at all. Since that episode, her life has taken a bizarre turn. She’s experiencing unexpected flashes of insight into people’s lives—people she’s never met before. Strangers frighten her with warnings about the approaching Shadows. And although Elise has never had a boyfriend, she suddenly finds herself torn between two handsome but very different young men: Abe, the charming bad boy whose affect on her both seduces and frightens her, and the mysterious Harlin, who’s new to town but with whom Elise feels an urgent, elemental connection—almost as if they are soul mates.
Now Elise begins to question everything about her life. Why do these guys both want her so desperately? What are the Shadows? Why does the name Charlotte inspire a terrifying familiarity? And who is Elise, really?

This cover is so stinking gorgeous because of the soft blue lighting and gentle pose. I think the two will work well together. Can't wait!

A Want So Wicked comes out June 26, 2012 from Balzer + Bray.

So what do you think of all these cover reveals? I'm in love! It looks like 2012 is going to be one hell of a year for good books!

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
