Waiting on Wednesday (32): Juliet Immortal, Hades & Angel Burn

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine where you can post about upcoming books you're looking forward to.

This is a wonderful chance for blogger to show off what's coming out soon that they are excited about! Every week my wishlist balloons thanks to this awesome meme.

Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay
"These violent delights have violent ends

And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which as they kiss consume."
—Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
The most tragic love story in history . . .
Juliet Capulet didn't take her own life. She was murdered by the person she trusted most, her new husband, Romeo Montague, a sacrifice made to ensure his own immortality. But what Romeo didn't anticipate was that Juliet would be granted eternity, as well, and would become an agent for the Ambassadors of Light. For 700 years, she's fought Romeo for the souls of true lovers, struggling to preserve romantic love and the lives of the innocent. Until the day she meets someone she's forbidden to love, and Romeo, oh Romeo, will do everything in his power to destroy that love.
Why I need this: I've had this one on my wishlist for a long time. I was browsing Random House one day a while ago and happened upon this summary. It was screaming at me to read it and now coupled with the gorgeous cover, I can't wait. This is an amazing concept!

Juliet Immortal comes out September 13, 2011 from Delacorte Books for Young Readers.

Hades (Halo #2) by Alexandra Adornetto
Even the love of her boyfriend, Xavier Woods, and her archangel siblings, Gabriel and Ivy, can’t keep the angel Bethany Church from being tricked into a motorcycle ride that ends up in Hell. There, Jake Thorn bargains for Beth’s release back to Earth. But what he asks of her will destroy her, and quite possibly her loved ones as well. Can he be trusted in this wager? And what does Jake have Xavier believing about Beth’s fate that may result in an act of betrayal that will leave Bethany – and readers – wondering if Xav is so good after all?
Why I need this: I have the first novel but haven't gotten a chance to read it yet. From what I've heard, the novel was a bit to "angelic" for some people so I]'m interested to see where this story goes. Plus, that cover is a lot of fun!

Hades is out August 20,2011 to Feiwel and Friends.

Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly
Willow knows she’s different from other girls, and not just because she loves tinkering with cars. Willow has a gift. She can look into the future and know people’s dreams and hopes, their sorrows and regrets, just by touching them. She has no idea where this power comes from. But the assassin, Alex, does. Gorgeous, mysterious Alex knows more about Willow than Willow herself. He knows that her powers link to dark and dangerous forces, and that he’s one of the few humans left who can fight them. When Alex finds himself falling in love with his sworn enemy, he discovers that nothing is as it seems, least of all good and evil. In the first book in an action-packed, romantic trilogy, L..A. Weatherly sends readers on a thrill-ride of a road trip — and depicts the human race at the brink of a future as catastrophic as it is deceptively beautiful.
Why I need this: I love this summary. I never stopped to read it until a few weeks ago and now I am dying for it to come out. I love a good forbidden romance story and this seems to be exactly it!

Angel Burn is out May 24, 2011 by Candlewick Press.

  2. I'm really looking forward to Juliet Immortal as well! Angel Burn sounds like it will be a great read too! I wasn't really impressed with Halo so I'm not really excited for Hades. The cover for Hades pales in comparison to the beauty of the first novel...

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
