Happily Ever Endings... Personal Demons by Lisa Derochers

Happily Ever Endings... was born out of sheer frustration. You know how when you read a series and you love it but the last book takes a little while to come out and then you sort of forget parts of the novel? That's what these posts are going to serve to remedy. Happily Ever Ending... is a short post about what happened at the ending of each book that is going to be in a series for people who need a quick reminder of what happened in the previous installment. I hope this saves someone else the frustration that I went through!

Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers

Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She has spent years keeping everyone at a distance—-even her closest friends—-and it seems as if her senior year is going to be more of the same . . . until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can’t seem to stay away from him.
What she doesn’t know is that Luc is on a mission. He’s been sent from Hell itself to claim Frannie’s soul. It should be easy—-all he has to do is get her to sin, and Luc is as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn’t stand a chance. But he has to work fast, because if the infernals are after her, the celestials can’t be far behind. And sure enough, it’s not long before the angel Gabriel shows up, willing to do anything to keep Luc from getting what he came for. It isn’t long before they find themselves fighting for more than just Frannie’s soul.
But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay . . . for all of them.

Luc confesses that he is a demon and Gabe confirms he is an angel. They both say that they were sent to "tag" Frannie's soul because she's special. Not only can she see when people are going to die but she has the ability to make people change their minds (called sway). If she was either side it would tip the scales in their favor.

Luc and Frannie go to a graduation party and Frannie gets a little tipsy. After getting to their car, they are attacked by Belias ans since Luc is losing his demon powers, he can't protect her. A ball of white light shows up and saves them though Luc notices it's a bit smaller than Gabe. Luc brings Frannie to Gabe's and Gabe brings her home the next morning (since Frannie's parents don't like Luc).
Luc goes home and is attacked by his boss Beherit and three Hell Hounds. Frannie has a premonition of Luc dying on his kitchen floor and wakes up to see Luc's car outside. She gets in and realizes Luc is more like his demonic self-- hot and pushy-- and thinks it is Belias (but as a reader we know it is actually Beherit). She takes him to Gabe's and promises to sleep with him there. Instead she tries to run and Berehit changes into his true form. Gabe comes from the top of the stairs and Luc comes from the kitchen with the Hell Hounds that were attacking them. Frannie asks him how as the hounds attack Berehit and Luc reveals that he is friend's with the pack leader (but that the pack leader didn't recognize him at first).
Berehit causes an explosion and Luc uses the last of his life force to shield Frannie but has died. In limbo, an angry Michael offers Luc another chance at life only if he works to convince Frannie to be tagged by heaven. Luc refuses (because he knows Frannie wants the choice) and Michael threatens to banish him to Hell but Luc realizes his soul is clean. Gabe grants Frannie her wish for Luc's life back. She also meets Matt, her dead brother, who is going to be her guardian angel. A few weeks later, Luc is fully human and they are able to make love. After, Frannie is possessed by Beherit but is able to force him out. Matt tells Frannie to forgive herself and when she does. her soul is tagged for heaven. The only catch is, she bargained for Luc and now his soul is too.

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
