You Never Know...

I keep meaning to do a post on this but it keeps slipping my mind. A few months ago I reviewed Linger by Maggie Stiefvater on this here blog. Then I posted on Goodreads and Shelfari. I woke up a few mornings later and saw I had a note on Shelfari, so I opened it to find this:

"I really, really don't usually comment on reviews or even read them, but your review of LINGER was sent to me and it was AMAZING. Thank you!" - Maggie Stiefvater
Yup, THE Maggie Stiefvater, author of Shiver, Linger and the forthcoming Forever. As a blogger, I started out to share my opinions with everyone on the books I read and read up on other books people are enjoying. But one of the most rewarding things I've come to notice is writing a good review and getting to "meet" the author. For me it's important to love the book before I offer to interview an author and in all circumstances I link to my review. I love that I am able to make an author smile or feel appreciated even if just for a moment by telling the world how much I enjoyed the book that they poured years of their lives into. It's truly one of the best things about blogging.

So what I'm saying is, your opinions do matter and your words can truly help (or hurt) another human being. You never know who's out there! So thanks to every single person who sits down to type words on blank screens and for sharing the voices in your heads!

  1. That is so amazing! It's nice to hear an author reaching out and being genuinely nice in light of some of the recent snarkiness. I finally read Shiver and Linger recently, and I'm even more glad I did now.

And your review was amazing. :)

  4. wow! It's always nice as a reviewer to know when someone likes you review - especially when its the author!! It must be the same as an author - nice to know your work is enjoyed by others.

Thinking of writing something below? Well, that's why you are awesome! I always love feedback!

This blog is an award free zone. With the demand of a full time job, blogging time is becoming much more precious and I just don't have the time to meet the demands of awards. Thanks so much for thinking of me anyway!
